Simon Mark is a researcher and artist based in Wellington, New Zealand. His research has focussed on the nation-state practice of cultural diplomacy, but he has also given presentations on nation branding at UCLA, California and at VUW, Wellington, written about the language of friendship treaties (with Drs Heather Devere and Jane Verbitsky), and written about strategic planning. He has exhibited his photographs in New Zealand, India and Nepal. Essays on his work, by Drs David Cross and Martin Patrick, can be viewed in the catalogues of the exhibitions '13 Photographs' and 'Marvellous Blind Spots'.
